Water lines and trees and deep-rooted plants can happily Coexist! Underground utilities are commonly located under your front yard or under planting areas along the street in the right-of-way, and also under your side or back yards. Buried public utilities on your property are usually within recorded easements, but not always. Utilities buried in your yard areas can be negatively impacted if a tree or deep-rooted shrub were planted too close to the utility or allowed to grow there.
