The first of a long list of Capital Improvement projects is officially underway! CWA is starting with replacing the all the outdated pipes within our system; starting with steel water mains. There are 6 sub project/areas with the steel mains. Since we will be replacing the main, we will also be rerouting some meters. There are many meters that are in the backyards of the properties of members and to respect the privacy of the homeowner as well as making it easier for field crew to locate and service, we will also be moving meters and the lines to be more accessible where we are able and applicable.
Surveys of the 6 areas that will be worked on first will start seeing a Survey Crew hired by Wilson Engineering starting in early July. Below is the tentative schedule:
- Control–July 8-9
- Utility Locates–July 13-16
- PA1&PA2–July 20-23 (Cascade View Dr from E Mountain View north for 565 Linear Feet (LF); S Edgewood Dr and Sunnycrest Ln; S Edgewood Dr 350 LF just north of N Marine View Pl and 350 LF south through yards and private driveways)
- PA3&PA4–July 27-30 (S Prospect St from Beach Dr southeast for 575 LF, possible add 165 LF to close main loop to S Country Club; SE Camano Dr from Mel’s Pl to Dr. Johns’ pl for 1,365 LF)
- PA5&PA6–Begin August 3 (Backyards between SE Camano Dr and S View St from S Country Club Dr northwest 1,900 LF; Backyards between S View St and Beach Dr between Holloway Ln and S Country Club Dr Northeast 1,200 LF)
