If you are leaving your property for an extended period of time and wish to turn your water off to prevent any surprise leaks, you absolutely can! All you will need to do is go to your meter box, locate the shut off valve, twist it until the “lock” holes are aligned and you are done. See below to spot the difference between an “open” and “closed” meter valve.

The difference is when the valve is open, there is an arrow on the valve pointed towards the register. This indicated the direction of ‘flow’ the water is going and therefore is an ‘Open’ valve. The lock holes are opposite of each other. In the ‘Closed’ example, the arrow is pointed away from the register and the lock holes are aligned .
For a $150.00 charge, CWA can do this for you, however we would love to help save you money if we can!
